As you may see I am in the midst of giving the blog a little overhaul. This change is not going to be merely aesthetic. In the end, I am trying to decide WHAT to do with it. Sure, I am going to be reviewing Miniatures and Games as I always have. Sure, there might be an odd book or film review. It is not likely that there will be any more game session reports, the game nights are too few and sporadic these days. I guess I am just trying to think of something to do with this thing, rather than the meandering catch as catch can it has served as in the past.
One new thing I am planning on doing is more original game content. I would also like to begin an examination of the Old School in a cultural and academic way (all apologies to James at Grognardia!) What else would my few readers like to see? I was thinking about interviewing some of the old school Miniatures sculptors, many of them live right here in my home state of Ohio. I dunno. Gimmie some ideas if you have some. Until then, unpleasant dreams...
Hi,
ReplyDeleteApologies for the off-topic comment, but I couldn't find a contact email for you.
I've recently put out an ebook of my writing, called 'The New Death and others'. It's mostly short stories, with some obvious gamer-interest material. For example I have a story inspired by OD&D elves, as well as poems which retell Robert E Howard's King Kull story 'The Mirrors of Tuzun Thune' and HP Lovecraft's 'Under the Pyramids'.
I was wondering if you'd be interested in doing a review on your blog.
If so, please let me know your email, and what file format is easiest for you, and I'll send you a free copy. You can email me (news@apolitical.info) or reply to this thread.
You can download a sample from Smashwords:

I'll also link to your review from my blog.
Yours,
James.
How a 'bout some pics of new minis during each phase of painting. I'm curious to see the process in more detail.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, OK, cool idea. I will try to improve my photography box and we can see what happens. I have some minis from some new companies and perhaps I can post the pics in tandum with reviews of products.
